According to the latest data from uSwitch, the new Apple iPhone 4S has surprised industry watchers by failing to make it to the top of the UK mobile charts in October which continue to be dominated by Samsung and HTC.
The uSwitch Mobile Tracker shows that the iPhone 4S entered the UK's top ten mobile phones in sixth place after launching on 14th October. Whilst the most popular phone of 2011 so far has been the Samsung Galaxy S II, its position at the top could be challenged by further competition from the iPhone 4S, Nokia‟s Lumia 800 and the new Android OS Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
After Sony Ericsson dropped from the chart in October, Samsung, Apple and HTC now dominate the top ten best selling mobile phones.
For the seventh consecutive month, the Samsung Galaxy S II retains the top spot for October with the Samsung Galaxy S climbing three places to number five. The biggest loser in the chart is Sony Ericsson which disappeared from the top ten alltogether and the HTC Sensation and Wildfire both fell three places.
